ZYN and VELO own most of the shelf between them. Both are good products. They're not the same, though, and the differences matter.
Brand Overview
ZYN comes from Swedish Match (now part of Philip Morris). It's the best-selling pouch in the US — dry, slim and the same every time you open a can.
VELO is British American Tobacco's entry. Bigger in Europe, growing fast in the US. The pouches run a little moister and the cans hold 20.

VELO simply goes higher. Freeze Max at 17mg is nearly three times ZYN's strongest. If you've outgrown 9mg, ZYN has nothing to sell you.

Flavor
ZYN plays the hits: Cool Mint, Spearmint, Citrus, Espresso. VELO experiments more — Ice Cool, Freeze Max, Ruby Berry, Royal Purple.
Both taste good. ZYN is drier and subtler; VELO is juicier and louder about it.
Pouch Quality
ZYN's dry pouches barely drip, which is great for discretion. VELO's moister pouches release flavour faster but can get messy if you park them too long.
Both are slim and sit comfortably under the lip. Neither causes much irritation at normal strengths.
Availability
In the US, ZYN is everywhere — gas stations, corner shops, online. VELO is easier to find in Europe and still expanding stateside.
The Verdict
On pure value, VELO takes this one: lower prices, higher strengths. And if value is really what you're after, Pablo, Loop and Killa beat them both.
But if you want the dry pouch you can buy at any gas station in America, ZYN is still ZYN.
